slumdog millionaire  just finished watching slumdog millionaire with my sis. it's pretty obvious why it won so many awards. the movie really depicts the reality of life. i still can't get over the jumping into shit part. and fortunately, or should i say unfortunately, his life-changing moments helped in all the questions. although the ending was predictable, i loved it. so many thing and so lil pictures HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYAN!!! the 2nd of our clique to turn 23 and our clique had, as usual, the best time together last night. steamboat buffet at crystal jade holland v, where we stuffed ourselves because some sas people ordered 4 portions. nessa got delicious cake from nydc and tau tried to hide food in his concoctions. waiting for tau's pictures :) SAVINGS ACCOUNT. i'm so proud of myself because i took my first step to saving. opened an account with uob today. decided to use that for spending and posb for savings. i agreed with bobby that uob's better for spending as it's the 2nd most common atm in singapore and not so crowded. a big pat on my shoulders. INKHEART. dad got tickets on wednesday for inkheart. i tot the storyline is good but could have been better explored. there was no climax, just events unfolding. still, it was a good movie for families. DINNER WITH EX-COLLEAGUES. after a long hiatus, we got together for dinner at jp. ya, i had a happening week. gossiped and caught up with each other's lives over dinner at ajisen. and chialin finally passed me the clothes which were rotting in her cabinet. chery t11 latest updates on my father's choice of cars. after further deliberation, he's leaning towards chery t11.  i'm not much for china products but i really like the cut of the car. it's an suv (high and spacious). there's a sunroof and most importantly, it's cheap. one thing is that it doesn't come in red, which is what my dad's looking for. according to an article i found, chery is actually a responsible company. it did a mass recall back in 2006 when they found out their cars had a faulty component. going for a test drive this sun! laptop part 2 ok i found something really stupid about the laptop. i know i have been raving about it, but after using a couple of times you really find out the idiosyncrasies. don't know if i mentioned this already, but there's a small light fixture next to the webcam on the top of the monitor, which is supposed to light the keyboard. the thing about the person who designed this laptop is that he probably never used a laptop before. because the light only shines on the keyboard when the monitor is tilted about 75 degrees from the keyboard. hp elitebook 6930p  so happy! got my free laptop today. hp elitebook 6930p. voted one of the best business laptops of the year. 14.1", 2.2kg (a tad too heavy), 8hr battery, 4gb. only thing i'm not pleased is that operating system is vista. not very user friendly.Monday, February 02, 2009 @ 21:26
lakeside hawker centre went to try the reopened, newly renovated lakeside hawker centre tonight and i must say i'm terribly disappointed! the stalls have increased their prices and some of the new stalls are really overcharging. we had fried carrot cake from #01-22. it was $3 and very mushy. the sugarcane drink from #01-20 was $1.50 and had more ice than sugarcane. the pontian wanton mee stall charges $2.70 for what i would be hesitant to pay $2 for. needless to say, i think there are better dinner places in jurong and i do not think i'll go back to this one anytime soon. bryan's twin   omg this korean actor, kim bum, is so like bryan it's scary. everytime i watch boys over flowers korean version, i get goosebumps. bryan just needs to keep his hair a bit longer and he'll be a star in korea. they're the same right down to their smile and mannerisms (ok kim bum is more act cute)! @ 07:54
car market 28:7:5 that was the ratio of toyota vios: suzuki swift: honda jazz i counted on the way to dinner and back. which means my dad has the most "popular" aka common car in singapore. i think at least 1 out of 40 cars in singapore is at least a vios. however, from the numbers, it can be inferred that both swift and jazz are showing the tendency of being common cars as well. thus, my study shows that while my dad shouldn't get swift or jazz, he should definitely change his car! these are the cars my dad has shortlisted:  mazda 2.  honda jazz.  honda city.  and suzuki swift sport. personally i hope he doesn't get swift, because it's so small and my dad doesn't have to squeeze with my aunt and grandma in the back. but he seems to be leaning towards that the most as it's the most powerful. mazda cars are fuel guzzling, so it's 50-50. i love jazz the most and it looks good in red!
