the restaurant occupies only a small portion of the eighth floor. majority of the tables there were big ones, which was fitting for us, a party of nine.
the dish that just blew me away: fried lotus with salted egg. the lotuses were sliced so thinly that they became chips when fried. costly chips though, that plate set us back $18. absolutely addicting, you can't stop popping them into your mouth!
and of course, their namesake--lobster porridge. it was so good, my mum ordered 3 big bowls of it.
i'm not going to write much about it, just that it was one of the best chinese food i have ever eaten. everything was tip-top, from the meat to the vegetable to the seafood. to gush over it would only (rightly) prejudice you. go try it!

orchard central presently has a promotion. take a picture of your friends at all of these four spots (spread over 3rd and 4th floor) and you will receive a $10 urbanwrite voucher (no additional condition). it's that simple! we collected 3 that day.
we then cross over to somerset@313 and had dessert at the old malaya cafe at basement 3.
dessert selection was pretty limited, price starting from $2.50. huge bowls, but what you see is what you get. there is nothing underneath all that ice.
