blood diamond watched blood diamond with my sis yesterday at vivocity, her treat... inspite of my dislike for that shopping mall, i seem to be going there quite regularly... anyway, the movie was really good... very beautifully made, the cast was superb... & to think i was going to let my fear of gory scenes dissuade me from watching that movie... there were gory ideas, however the director doesn't show them, but u know what has happened... & it really smacks the harsh reality of life right in ur face... though the whites have left africa long after the apartheid, they still obviously control it & exploit the civil strife... after watching the movie, i can't imagine myself purchasing diamonds at all, to think ur paying such a price for other people's lives...
