i'm back! as usual, after a long hiatus, the post will be (and fair waring: is going to be) super duper long. tomorrow was a happening day for me coz i usually spend the weekends zzz-ing, recharging for the dreary routine at work. first up, in the late morning/early afternoon was my niece's, adrienne, 1st birthday! yes it's simply astonishing how time goes by! that little bundle of energy and naughtiness is 1 year older. while i know my attention should be on adri, i can't help but concentrate on the cake. omg i really can't believe anyone would actually have the heart to cut the cake (notice that my cuz didn't). if u're looking for photos of adri, i didn't take any (i'm waiting for the pro photographer's one).     the whole tiered cake costs my cuz $200 plus. she said majority of the cost came from the cupcakes. if u're interested, please check out cupcake divinity for more info and prices. they do have many more funky designs available.  the picture podium. isn't adrienne a lucky girl? mummy and daddy spent lots of money on her party.  this is just one of the few balloon clusters around the house.  custom made agar agar for adrienne.  i just had to slip in a photo of me and...  a photo of my cuckoo cuz (not adrienne's mummy, she's still jailbait haha). too bad my sis was sick and couldn't make it (she didn't want to take the chance of passing anything to the babies attending). she would have loved the photo taking opportunities, so i bought home 3 of the beautiful cupcakes for her. then in the evening, went with sis to meet up with lil and siyu for steamboat at xian de lai (18 liang seah street). they gave us the 3rd floor, despite the fact that we made reservations. it was quite a climb and u had to serve yourself (unlike the concept of the first 2 floors). there were pros and cons. you don't have to wait to be served, but u still have to pay 10% service charge. total bill for 4 people (u have to pay for drinks urself) $100. if u do check out the restaurant, be sure the try the spicy chicken soup (though many people recommend the specialty duck soup). the spicy chicken soup comes with a bowl of fried spicy chicken, which is really delicious. the soup itself is just as good. it's hot but not hot enough that makes ur lips swollen and nose runny. we 4 girls keep gossiping and exchanging latest updates about our lives. though i like hanging out with my clique, it's always good to have a girls only night out. lil showed us pictures about her new hamsters (tofu, smokey and ike) which are really cute! i showed them pictures of adri's birthday and as per normal, siyu entertained us just by speaking (haha). my sis was just listening and emptying the restaurant's supply of prawns. later, we walked around bugis for a while, looking for domokun and dessert. only lil, sis and i stayed for dessert, finally finding something open at 10 plus at mos burger. it was an exhausting but wonderful day! can't wait for my sis's birthday next week!
