jackie's first day out it's so surprising that my colleague, jackie, has been in singapore for 3 months and has yet to explore singapore beyond jurong point (which she didn't even walk much). so yesterday, caroline and i brought her to citilink and marina square. first, we went on a shopping spree in citilink (sixities, bysi & g2000). pay day!!! i think we spend about 2 hours there. i bought this classy and simple dress at g2000 for only $29, u.p. $99 (so happy)! jackie also managed to grab a nice bottom for $19. caroline, the shopping queen, on the other hand bought more expensive clothes from other stores. next, i treated them to ice-cream at marvelous cream. it's kinda like cold rock creamery, only it's japanese, cheaper ($4.90 for small) and more choices. other than the original creams, they also sell popular desserts like tiramisu and creme brulee in ice-cream style. jackie had caramel apple, which was sweet and a must try. i had mango temptation (tasted like mango pudding, not bad but had some weird bits in it), while caroline had mix berries marriage which she found sour. after that, we finally headed on to marina square, where we got pulled into some hair removal stall at the women's fair. the salesperson could really sell. she talked till i had to pee and was dying of thirst. while i was relieving myself of both pee and death, caroline signed the half removal package and jackie, the facial one. we were starving by the time the salespeople finally let go of us. headed to lerk thai (because caroline couldn't afford more expensive tastes after splurging $1500 on the hair removal package). after dining at nus, eating lerk thai outside is expensive and they aren't as generous. it was 8.30pm when we headed home after dinner and we didn't even finish walking a quarter of marina square. our next outing's planned at vivocity gv max for caroline's birthday. can't wait! |
