i'm a girl who have stepped into the unknown called work and decided that schooling is better. i also have a propensity to go crazy over fried chicken wings and simply love to squeeze and over-feed my obese hamsters. my blog is a mode for expressing my love for food, movies, travel and shopping!

my favourite city: vivocity

my title sounds like some primary school composition assignment. these are photos taken some time ago, during chinese new year. i just got my laptop back, hence you finally see pictures (i'm not completely happy with the repair but that's another story altogether).

a few of us cousins decided to go to vivocity during one of the weekends to catch a movie. we had lunch at kim gary first. the fare at the restaurant is always generous and prompt, definitely a good choice if you have a movie in half an hour.

my sis's borsch soup. i prefer the cream one. this reminds me of minestrone. vegetables and i are kind of like same sides of the magnet. we repel.

peppermint aloe vera with sprite. quite subjective. the peppermint is very strong. if you can't take peppermint milk tea, you shouldn't even bother ordering this.

something we usually have when we're there, mushroom rice. the mushroom taste isn't overpowering (a plus for me) and the corn adds crunchiness to the dish. if you do not like chicken, which is a safe choice, try the one with the fish. it's better!

this is something i've always wanted to try but never had the guts. first, whenever i see waiters carrying the bowl, it just seems gigantic. second, it looks like it'll burn the roof off my mouth. it is huge, i could probably package my remainder and sell it in a normal bowl. however, in spite of the huge amount of chilli and chilli oil you see, it is not spicy at all. the noodles are quite 'q' and easy to slurp up.

moving on to the present...

we had jpot today for lunch. another of our favourite restaurants to hit. they are currently having a promotion, 25% discount for lunch (inclusive of weekend). for jumbo card members, it's 30% off!

so my mum made use of the rare chance to order lobster sashimi. the lobster's live, taken right from the tanks you see at the entrance. it cost about $30, which is a pretty good price for something so fresh.
