horrible service by singtel

finally i can blog again! never am i so glad to see the log in page to blogspot. wondering why i have not been blogging lately? it was due to singtel's lousy customer service. now i know why many friends of mine who had been singtel customers, have switched over to either starhub or m1.

singtel used to have numbers for different enquiries e.g. 1610 for singnet, 1609 for residential, etc. however, they have converged all numbers into one. for everything you can only call 1688. one would assume that since they were confident enough to just have one number, their service should be efficient. not.

my wireless connection started having problems a few days ago. so after a couple of days of inconvenience, i called the customer service upon reaching home after work. the first time i called, i held for 15 minutes, no one answered, so i hanged up.

after bathing, i decided to try again. held for another 15 minutes, before heading out to dinner, still holding on to the line. they finally answered after 20 minutes and i was already out. the guy just told me that i had to be home. i asked if there was a direct number to call or whether i could leave my number and they could call me back since i've already tried calling twice, he just told me to call again. such horrible service.

finishing dinner, i rushed home to call 1688 again. i got through after about 15 minutes. finally got to talk to someone, but the line got cut off. instead of receiving a call from them (since i had to enter my phone number when calling in), i waited for about 5 minutes before calling in again.

after another 15 minutes, i got through to the guy, who suggested some things i should do which didn't work. i asked him whether he could send a technician to my house. he suggested that some of my cables could be faulty and i should check them before calling back to ask for technical support. of course, i wasn't so lucky, the measures didn't work. so what did my family have to do? call in AGAIN.

we might consider trying starhub or m1 after our contract ends.
