day out with mum it's been very long since i had an outing with mum, so i met up with her last night at ion to do some eating and shopping.  we had some chicken wings from 4 fingers bonchon crispy chicken. tried both the garlic and hot ones. both were yummy and finger licking good :) however, what both my mum and i loved were the fries. it was a healthier version of mac's shaker fries. the fries were crisp and not overly salty. a meal of 6 wings, fries and coke cost $9.95.  next, mum went over to food opera to buy some yam abacus, soon kueh and beef pho. the yam abacus and soon kueh were from the same stall, near the entrance of the food court. the abacus were a bit oily, however the soon kueh was really good. the skin was soft and thin, went nicely with the chilli. the pho could use more soup. beef slices were huge and generous.   after that, it was dessert from marvelous cream. mont blanc ice cream. it was only so-so. not enough chestnut.  check out my new toenails. pretty artwork by ladyfingers @ jp.  i always thought it was a sticker, but it isn't! they actually use this white clay like substance and put it on the nail, then they sculp it. so i guess $8/nail isn't too much considering that it is minute and requires lots of concentration. post on hong kong will be up soon, i promise! have been slacking at home and just finished editing the pictures.
