singapore laksa la mian that's definitely a feat for someone who cooks soggy fried rice and bakes rock-hard muffins. but still, i managed to cook up a feast for my mum and me in ten minutes! and so how did i accomplish that? all thanks to singapore laksa la mian, premium noodle in aromatic coconut soup. an easy gourmet indulgence as promised on the packet. mum and i went to ntuc finest at clementi mall and the lady was introducing this new form of instant noodles at an introductory offer of $4.85 for two packets. there is no msg added, noodles are steamed air-dried and it is halal! best of all, it's a local product (all for supporting the local industry). the packet comes with two sachets-- laksa premix (cocunut milk powder) and laksa paste-- and a huge serving of noodles. first, i had to bring 500ml of water to boil after emptying the sachets. in the meantime, i was slicing my fishcakes to add into the mix. the packet doesn't come with any toppings so you will have to buy things to add e.g. meat, eggs, bean sprouts and bean curd. after adding the noodles, i stirred them around. unlike the usual instant noodles, these are thicker and less mushy when cooked. and tada! ready to serve! one packet was good enough for mum and me. what you see here is just one bowl! we managed to split everything evenly into two bowls. i wished i had some laksa leaves to add onto it. the noodles were delicious and the soup really creamy and rich. i think this will be a favourite among singaporeans overseas who are craving for local delights.
