dim sum delights @ noble house had dim sum with my family during the weekend at noble house which was located in uic building at shenton way. my sis recently received tung lok vouchers and having tried club chinois, humble house and their signature restaurants, we settled on noble house which had raving reviews on hungrygowhere. i finally got a chance to wear my "aunty" blouse (as my sister termed it) from fox. my mum bought it for me last year and i haven't really felt like wearing it until now. paired it with my skinny dark blue denim from mango as i didn't want to overplay the frilliness of the blouse. the meal at noble house fell short of our expectations after having read such high praises online. the food came really slowly, literally one plate at a time. the staff forgot our orders and we had to constantly remind them. the food came lukewarm as if they had been set waiting for a long time. the porridge was cold and gelatinous. we ordered two bowls to share among the eight of us and we didn't finish it. the whitebait on the other hand was good, arrived hot and crispy. beancurd cubes in the foreground and beancurd skin at the background. the cubes were smooth but tasteless. were supposed to be accompanied with salt and pepper seasoning but they were nowhere to be seen. the char siew bao was good. very soft and sweet. the meat was also lean and succulent. desserts were tang yuan and mango pamelo sago. the tang yuan were sesame flavoured ones and came coated in crusted peanuts. the highlight of the whole meal came at the very end, as the staff forgot about it. the custard buns were relatively small in size compared to their counterparts (char siew bao). however, they made up for their lack in size by being really delicious. the custard literally explodes out as soon as you bite into it! standard comparable to that of bosses in vivocity.
