i'm a girl who have stepped into the unknown called work and decided that schooling is better. i also have a propensity to go crazy over fried chicken wings and simply love to squeeze and over-feed my obese hamsters. my blog is a mode for expressing my love for food, movies, travel and shopping!

mixture of work and play

today was a good day and perfect balance between work and play. in the morning i met up with huda to get breakfast at wendy's, jurong point, before cabbing to school for an hour and a half of clearing admin stuff.

wendy's of course gave a whole new meaning to fast food with it's extremely fast and efficient service (do you hear the sarcasm). we waited for about ten minutes for our meal and we were the only customers in line.

upon reaching school, huda and i both dug into our food. the pancakes were surprisingly still piping hot and fluffy, even better than macs! however, the waitress did not provide us with any utensils and only gave us a packet of butter and maple syrup, which was not enough for a sweet-tooth like me. wendy's really need to work on their service standards if they hope to compete with more established chains like macs and carl's jr.

so after attempting to clear some work off my desk before the next school week starts, i headed off the the mrt station to meet my sis. we decided to go to vivocity for some lunch, movie and of course, shopping.

since i wasn't very hungry after my breakfast from wendy's, i didn't make a fuss when my sis wanted to dine at soup spoon. i have never liked the soups there because their soup is more like stew. anyway, instead of their old soupaholic card, they now have a new one, with a barcode. it works like a rebate system where you earn points with a certain amount of money you spend. also, even if you forget your card, you can still accumulate points with your mobile number! how cool is that?

after eating, we went to catch our movie, life as we know it. the movie is serious eye-candy-watching, featuring hunks like josh duhamel and josh lucas. katherine heigl as usual could only portray the same control-freak-business-woman-i-need-a-guy role.

the movie was about two hours long and rather sweet. there were many touching moments where two people with disparate characters had to put aside their differences and bring up a child. you could also comprehend how fulfilled they felt when they made small steps with the baby.

after the movie, we went down to topshop for my sis to exchange her fashion fast forward card for a new one. she also got $10 vouchers for topshop, dorothy perkins and such. we also got a cute bottle of water while waiting!
