trinkets & ximending @ vivocity

a surprise on my table when i went back to school this week!

a teacher's dream... stamps!

too bad, i can't use some of them :( they would offer some truthful and succinct messages.

later that day, i went to ximending @ vivocity for dinner. i've walked past this restaurant on my way to mob, but my sis wasn't really interested, so i gave it a miss. this time i was back with friends.

the restaurant was bigger than it seemed from the front. there was another seating area at the back.

fried bee hoon. flavour was pleasant, but the bee hoon was a bit coarse. putien offers better quality and more scrumptious bee hoon.

spring roll. wasn't fried as you can tell from the picture. was definitely a healthier version, with loads of vegetables and chopped meat.

mei choy pork noodles. i really loved this! the noodles were so smooth you could slurp it up. the pork was not too fatty, which was good for me and i think the mei choy complimented the whole dish brilliantly.

salted vegetable tripe soup. i don't really like spare parts, but the soup was so exquisite! the flavours of the ingredients were apparent in the mouth-watering concoction.

sweet potato porridge was literally toothsome! sweet potato porridge fans should try this! it's $2 for free flow of porridge.

desserts, on the other hand, were a bit mediocre. ok if you just want something to sweeten the palate, but not for a state of perfection.

egg pudding. this totally differed from the picture! in the picture it looked like a warm golden coloured clear pudding, but when it came, it was like thick creme brulee with hardened honey on top.

yam paste. i'm not sure if they are trying to serve or-nee, but it was really watery and very sweet.

good for main courses and get-togethers. just skip the desserts.
