mum and me @ the tastings room  we made reservations at the tastings room but since sis and dad had to work yesterday, it was only mum and me at dinner. the restaurant wouldn't take any reservations for the past three nights as it was fully booked, so we got lucky yesterday.    mum and i went to redeem out deal.com.sg voucher of a pizza/egg with tea/coffee/wine. they revamped their menu and no longer serve pizza so we had two different types of egg.   mum's poached eggs in red wine hollandaise sauce. she couldn't taste the wine at all.   i had the egg benedict which i enjoyed. the egg was cooked perfectly and the sauce as well as the proscuitto ham just went really well together.   look at the egg yolk! it was so fresh. still soft and gooey and yet didn't break as i cut through the egg white.  we also had chicken wings, something i couldn't resist as i saw the menu. it was served with salsa, homemade mayo and bbq sauce (not tomato ketchup as was told by the waitress). wings tasted like the popular wingdings of the past but were pretty pricey, six wings/drumlets for $10.90.  and of course we ended with their warm banana cake served with lemongrass ginger ice-cream. i, of course, stayed away from anything ginger.  we ended our night by seeing a pink volkswagon beetle convertible wedding car on the way to the bus stop. |
