bad pork i had tea with my sis at xin wang taiwan cafe, citilink. we were heading to new urban male after threading our brows at peninsula plaza and i was hankering for a drink, so we made a pit stop at the cafe. i patronised the outlet before, yet i couldn't remember anything about my previous meal. kept trying to recall what was good but i drew a blank, so we ordered what normal people would at any taiwan cafe--milk tea. the tea was thick and they probably have one of the best pearls i have ever tasted. the pearls were soft and sweet (in case you're wondering, they are not jelly like at all). i also felt a need to grab a bit, but since it was close to dinner time, i decided on something small and taiwanese--crispy pig intestines. and i totally regretted it. after forcing myself, i still couldn't finish half of it. it was oily and fatty. i felt like i was swallowing lumps of fat. totally gross. even till dinner time, i felt nauseous and had absolutely no appetite. while i was busily trying to stuff myself, my sis made use of the time to decorate her phone with stickers she got at a 'n' bc at raffles city. now her phone looks like a regular menagerie. after our trip to the cafe, we started slipper shopping! the guy at num was very patient with us. we were trying on so many designs and sizes and he actually gave us advice on the different choices. in the end, we decided on dupe instead of havaianas (seems like num is bringing in more brands and not concentrating on havaianas anymore). according to the patient guy, dupe's material is similar to havaianas. the difference is that they belong to different manufacturers. will see if there's any disparity after wearing it in! |
