hello from jogja  saying hi from borobudur! weather's really hot and humid here. people aren't really friendly, especially in jogja. those i've met are quite calculative and you can literally see in their eyes how they are thinking of more ways to get additional money out of you. hotels-wise, very old and simple (almost military/hostel-like). they don't renovate. the only difference between a higher priced hotel is whether it is new. considering their living standards, food is expensive here. we mostly ate maggi mee (that is what they are passing off in local eateries as mee rebus or mee goreng).
