tcc at marina @ keppel bay had my birthday celebration during the weekend at tcc, marina @ keppel bay with my family. it was our first time there and it's a place accessible by car. the place is beautiful and i can equate the drive across the bridge to an overseas experience. i felt like i was being transported to some western country, with all the docked yachts welcoming me. on the way there, my sis was singing 'happy birthday' and strumming her cute watermelon ukulele. the restaurant is rather small compared to the other tcc outlets. i feel that the location would be better if it was on the first floor. potato skins, special order, chicken only. i can't stop raving about this dish. it's fantastic! the chicken tastes like something you can get at a mexican restaurant and the cheese... oh man... one plate's not enough. pan-fried barramundi with passionfruit-ginger sauce. i didn't try this dish but i heard that it's good and that the fish is fresh and smooth. my oven-baked chicken with spiced cream sauce. tastes like thai curry to me, the coconut taste is rather rich. i think tcc was trying for a fusion dish, but it wasn't working for me. roasted rack of lamb with apple puree. i love beef but lamb is just too xin for me. my cousin ordered it well-done and he enjoyed it. my birthday cake! dark chocolate cake with caramelised banana. serving's quite small but the chocolate cake is oh-so-sinful! would have been better if they had it bigger! look at adrienne eyeing my cake! yes that girl can't wait to get a bite. omg i look like a glutton here, but it's that good! how can anyone go to tcc and not sample their dark devotion? a wonderful hot lava cake, with chocolate oozing out, accompanied with divine vanilla ice cream. also, i loved the crunchy sesame sugar crisp served on the side. simply yummy! royal pumpkin cheesecake. really interesting. i was afraid that it would be too squashy or that the cheese would overpower the pumpkin, but it was amazingly light! definitely not something you can find in any other restaurant. a must-try! my mum trying to explain to my niece what a water fountain is. also, she was correcting adrienne: our national flag is not a kite. here is adrienne manning a buggy. look at her, such a cutie pie, her feet can't even touch the floorboard. haha :) meet my sis's bf (drumroll), matthew. i have no idea how my mum makes 'matthew' sound chinese , but she actually does that. anyway, it would have been romantic without the group of us and them lugging along their study materials. after dinner, we took a stroll along keppel bay and it was beautiful :) since we ate dinner early, the sun was just setting. here are some photos for you to enjoy... it was a wonderful birthday celebration! thanks for everyone who made it. and for those who didn't, thanks for the pressies and birthday wishes :) Labels: birthdays, family, food |
