desserts at ootoya another post about ootoya, just can't get enough of the restaurant. lately i have been seeing many bloggers blog about the food there as well, so it seems that word of mouth is still the best and cheapest way of advertising. the food there has been mentioned so many times that this time i would be giving equal opportunity to the desserts! i brought my grandparent and aunt there for lunch that day with dad, the twins and the two little ones (boy, everyone's growing big so fast). not sure if they enjoyed the experience there with ayden being rather restless that day (he's into making dinosaur-like sounds that his sister thinks she is). iced milk tea, of which the milk you add yourself. i emptied the whole jug of sugar syrup before it was sweet enough for me. grilled pork with their signature sweet sauce. love how ootoya is generous with their greens for all their dishes. chicken egg omelette. tori karage with orange sauce on a bed of thinly sliced cabbage. the fried chicken was delicious by itself that i had some with the sauce and some without. my niece the dinosaur. she's so awfully cute! that's an ugly-pretty picture. moving on to the desserts! be blown away by the artistic presentation of food. the previous time i went there was rather late in the night and only green tea desserts were left and i hate green tea so i didn't try anything. this time, we went early and everything was available! caramel pudding surrounded by a mixture of berries, red bean and banana. banana parfait with coffee ice cream. japanese style tiramisu? whatever it was, i loved it! beautifully layered dessert. sweet succulent raspberries, niblets of cake with alternating layers of sugared whipped cream and raspberry syrup, finished off with a base of coffee ice-cream. what's even better is that you get 10% off your bill when you pay with uob credit card! the total bill for the six of us was $139, about $23 per person. |
