jumbo @ dempsey went to dempsey for dinner yesterday. had so little notice that i only had time to throw on a dress and put minimal make-up (mascara and blusher). it was still bright when we arrived at the restaurant.    this is the second time that we have visited this outlet and similar to our previous visit, we requested for outdoor seating. no worries about mosquitoes, didn't have a single bite the whole time we were there.  found it pretty amusing that under every item were the words "kuai kuai lai", which mean come quickly.  luo han guo and longan drink. longans were very sweet!  we got our very own champagne...   tofu with spinach. silken white blocks fried to golden brown. abundance of mushrooms with gelatinous sauce. yum.  garlic chicken. crispy skin, absolutely mouthwatering.  black pepper beef. sauce came in a separate pitcher. had the grilled, smoky taste, but got a bit stale after a while.  two lobsters, top cooked in their award-winning signature sauce, bottom one was cooked in stock. both my parents found that while the lobster was fresh, the sauce was not up to standard, expected better from such a well-known seafood restaurant. |
