hanh's pampering session sunday came and passed too soon. sis and i planned a mini hen party for hanh who's going back to vietnam for her wedding this march holidays. sis and i cant be there for her big day, her because she didn't want to go alone and i have my commitments in school, so we decided to do something special for her before she flies back. first, sis started her day by doing something to her boring hair. i've been after her to do something about her straight black hair. she's trying to keep it long so she doesn't want to cut it. i thought when she told me she was going to dye it, it would be a professional job, with some interesting highlights. and not out of a box. we've been wanting to try this brand forever, but i'm not too keen about the colours they offer. the ammonia smell was overwhelming! i could smell it with my sis's toilet door and room door closed! application-wise was fuss free and rather even. hope the colour stays. after that it was orchard central for us! some shopping before we met hanh. on the itinerary was also classic pedicures and dinner. and guess who came along for the hen party? we got some wedding presents from urbanwrite (i LOVE that shop, always going there to buy little gifts for my students, like a little wonderland for teachers). hanh enjoying her little soak in refreshing orange balt salt. we also made her open her presents. a baby pink knitted shawl by my sis (yes, she made it). a diy wedding photo album from me. and a photo frame from matthew. the end results: hanh spotting her red nails with floral nail art. my royal purple and gold french pedicure. sis with her beachy-hawaii feel. we then walked down orchard road to big o at paragon for dinner. tomato soup and mushroom soup. sour for the former and tasteful for the latter. my steak was a bit tough :( they were generous with the mushrooms though. while the food was not as good as it was, the cakes there never fail to lift me up! signature big o cheesecake. spike d durian cake. baileys irish cheesecake. couldn't really taste the liquor but i enjoyed it all the same.
