kfc winglets ratings from the chicken wing connoisseur haha... tried the new kfc winglets coz they looked really nice in the menu pic (ok when will i ever learn such pics are deceiving?)... and they sucked! 5 pieces for $2.95, more flour than chicken & totally tasteless... they must be some kind of mutant form of chicken wings (maybe that's why they're called winglets instead of wings) coz instead of having the usual 2 bones, there was only one...  k this pic shows in comparison, the bone to the amount of flour the winglet was coated with...  yes totally misleading rite? they look so plump & succulent, but when u take off all that flour, it looks like some frog leg... & taste like one too (that's not supposed to be complimentary)... expected so much more from kfc, i mean it's kentucky fried chicken, aren't they supposed to be good in fried chicken? mcwings taste much better! flu bug seems like i caught the flu bug from my mum during the weekend... had really terrible sore throat yesterday... couldn't sleep the whole night... lucky my mum told me to eat panadol cold relief, which really helped alot... but i was still sniffing the whole day... used up 2 packets of tissues... first day of tutorials today... it was quite enjoyable actually... the tutors were friendly, made some new friends, saw some old ones & time passed very quickly... haha my nm2209 tutor, carol, asked for my blog (coz of some icebreaker stuff), so in case she visits, i'll shall not write anything that will implicate myself haha... window shopping yesterday went vivocity (again)... ok it's not so bad during weekdays, when it's not so crowded... watched the illusionist, the story line's very interesting & the character edward norton (so hot!) plays is very brilliant... haha when my sis & me found out the answer to the mystery, we were like "oooohhhh"... before & after the movie, we went window shopping, tried clothes, but only my sis bought a gold dress from topshop, coz she isn't broke... i took some pics of the clothes i tried, but the topshop ones were either too short or too low cut, so i only uploaded the forever 21 ones...   lil, this is the little black dress i was telling u about, in case u didn't receive my mms... haha my sis wanted to buy for me, but think it's still too ex ($73, typical forever 21 price) & too low cut to wear out...  saw this rv girl at the bus stop, so obscene can? i think she was taking out her wallet from her shorts pocket.... eeewww.... dvd day spent my weekend watching vcd/dvd... first zoolander from siyu... quite a satirical film about airheaded people in the fashion industry, totally not worth going to the cinema for... fortunately it was banned in sg... also, the movie made some offensive reference to the prime minister of malaysia, not that it affects me personally, but it was insensitive... then, taxi 1 from efei... haha my sis & me were so excited about it... but there were no subtitles!!! my sis said efei told her it was funny even without the subtitles, so we spent like 30 mins watching, but we were totally not getting it... watching taxi 2 & 3, the dialogue made up most of the funny parts, so we stopped watching & decided to get a vcd with subtitles... blood diamond watched blood diamond with my sis yesterday at vivocity, her treat... inspite of my dislike for that shopping mall, i seem to be going there quite regularly... anyway, the movie was really good... very beautifully made, the cast was superb... & to think i was going to let my fear of gory scenes dissuade me from watching that movie... there were gory ideas, however the director doesn't show them, but u know what has happened... & it really smacks the harsh reality of life right in ur face... though the whites have left africa long after the apartheid, they still obviously control it & exploit the civil strife... after watching the movie, i can't imagine myself purchasing diamonds at all, to think ur paying such a price for other people's lives... OMG!! OMG!!! my mum tried to matchmake me today... can u believe it?!? she came home all excited & was like beaming at me, giving me cheeky looks & said "i've got something to tell u"... ok that line got me totally worried... she was like "do u want to know more guy friends? coz there's this guy who i knew doing the wto meetings & he's very nice... i asked him & he's not attached... i also asked him if he wanted to know more girl friends & he said he dun mind, so do u mind 1 day i call him out for lunch with u & me?" first day ok tot i'll just log in my first day at sch... met stephanie from sa on the bus, couldn't recognise her at first haha, then she started talking about lil being her neighbour & we ended up talking all the way to school... anway i should have left home earlier coz i was late & i couldn't find where the classroom was (coz it's in biz)... i was panicking as i really needed to go to the toilet & was totally lost & there were so many people in biz... yup, in the end i made it & the class was really fun... the teacher's very nice, made up some icebreaker game, so we really got to know people in the class & i'm so happy coz i made new friends! signatures dinner at tunglok signatures yesterday with my family... the service was very good, but the food isn't as good compared to other tunglok restaurants e.g. club chinois & humble house (as constantly pointed out by my mum & sis throughout the meal)... we sat facing sentosa, with this gigantic mirror at the back & there were some narcissistic people at the next table who kept staring at themselves... we ordered black pepper beef (too much tenderiser), lamb shank (good), baked cod fish (we think it was nice, but my mum says there's some fishy taste), san bei chicken (ok, but expected better), curry prawns (delicious) & kungbo pork (delicious)... which was more than enough for 4 people... both the curry prawns & pork came with mini fried munto, went really well with the sauce... only 3 of us ordered dessert... dad had mango pudding, which he tot was ok, sis had mango & pamelo sago that she really liked & i had mango mousse wrapped in coconut flakes, which tasted like mochi & i loved it! *excuse my poor hanyu pinyin... sec sch gathering had a really great time with mich, lil, siyu, ahma, bao & seekie yesterday... well basically it's always the same few us to appear, so it's easy to crap around & feel comfortable... first went for lunch at this fish & chips place beside coro, which bao recommended, but i dun think i'll be going back there anytime soon... haha though we ate finished, we stayed long after coz the place was playing taxi... we, ok i, kept laughing, it was really hilarious... later we moved to this ice-cream parlour at serene center, where mich saw her love at first sight (who gave her a free scoop of ice-cream)... then we went to mich's house, newly renovated, very nice... her bro has a ferrari, which we didn't see, coz it was covered... there were like 4 cars in front of her house... we played mahjong... haha beginner's luck, i won twice (which really is a big thing for me, coz i've never won 2 in a row)! mich's mum is very nice... makes delicious tea eggs & mango pudding & even gave lil, siyu & me a lift to orchard... after the gathering, lil, siyu & me went to shop... only i didn't buy anything... then we went for dinner at cafe cartel to satisfy my pasta craving, which it did coz i was pretty bloated at the end of the meal... they had this super pasta thing, when u order a pasta, u'll get a free drink & soup of the day, worth it... looking forward to gathering every holiday :) Labels: friends @ 10:10

purple slippers argh i'm so sad!!! i saw my puma slippers (which lil tot was a leopard) in purple!!! why did it come out so late? it was mulbery background & the puma in purple-pink... watched night at the museum today with my sis... tot it was a pretty good movie, despite the lukewarm critics it got... all the while i tot it was gonna be kind of scary, but it ended being meaningful... spent the whole day going to topshop all around town area to find for my sis this golden shorts she wanted, but in the end she didn't buy it!!! salvation army we dropped by salvation army to do my mum's regular donating of stuff there & this is what we saw...  it was raining & nobody bothered to come out to keep the bags & if u look really closely there is a hard-drive in the bottom right hand corner of the pic, which i assume will be totally spoilt by now from the rain... it's really disgusting that people are bothering to donate things & the salvation army doesn't treasure them... what's the point of continuously giving if they are just left like a huge garbage site? there was someone sitting below the shelter of the salvation army building & he was just lounging on his chair, not even caring about the stuff in the bags going to ruin by the rain... salvation army my poot! @ 10:46
vivocity went to vivocity yesterday with my parents, despite my strong inhibitions against it, they were still curious... i really hate that place, every few steps u walk, u literally bump into people... it's so congested, the 2nd storey walkway looked like a queue for the great singapore sale... kind of inducing claustrophobia... i spent most of the time trying to steer clear of people instead of enjoying myself while shopping...  after avoiding 3 couples, i managed to take a pic of this beautiful dress i saw in the window... tot it looks like the dress kiera knightely wore to the preview of potc 1...  this swedish ship was kind of a big hoohah there... they had info about it and souvenir shop in the atrium, but i didn't bother reading coz it was already so hard getting to places, i was afraid if i stopped, i couldn't start walking again... since vivocity's joined to harbourfront, we went to pastamania harbourfront for dinner... u could really feel the difference... like u could finally take a deep breath... did some real shopping at wanko there, saw mandy from my veeko times & got this really nice sweater... think their apparels look ex & classy... gathering at great world yesterday went out with my relatives to eat dim sum at xin cuisine (aunt's treat), then headed to great world city to eat b&j (mum's treat)... oooo had a very delicious 3 scoop (cookie dough, choc fudge brownie & oatmeal), yes but i think i'm lactose intolerant, coz i had a very bad tummy upset the whole night... maybe i'll stick to 2 scoops the next time, but it's pretty hard to decide which 2 of my fav 3 flavours to choose... haha met siyu, jeff & bryan at great world yesterday... had a mini gathering in the middle of zara... siyu & jeff were on their way home & bryan was waiting for his parents to choose furniture... haha & siyu's tan has faded, but bryan & me are still pretty dark...  just tot this was kinda funny...  was at novo & saw this super cute baby sleeping... it's pretty dark so i couldn't catch her (i'm just assuming based on gender stereotype: pink blanket) face, but it was super chubby & was pursing her lips, sleeping so soundly... yes decided not to write any new year resolutions this year, coz i wrote them last year & couldn't remember them after 1 week... well just wish i'll have a smooth sailing year & everyone a happy new year! |
