spagetti too for all people who want good food at a very low price... check out spagetti too @ imm.... it's by spageddies, so if u want affordable & delicious pasta & western meals, this is the place to go! desserts ala mode (italian choc cake & apple crumble) costs only $2.50, drinks (milkshakes & such) are below $2, pastas are about $6-7 & starters (salad & appetizers) are about $3.... just so u were wondering, it was the price that caught my eye first! currently they're having a promotion... main course (grilled sirloin, grilled salmon with pasta on hot plate, chicken baked rice or seafood aglio olio) + drinks $7.90... if i'm not wrong, it ends oct, so there's still plenty of time to try... we ordered mushroom soup, caesar salad & for me, strawberry milkshake... the soup was thick & with lots of mushroom & it was really tasty... the caesar salad was only ok, they dun use romaine lettuce, so there's not much to it... the milkshake was good, but they only filled half the cup... my sis really like the calamari... she said the sauce & squid was especially good & worth the price ($2.50), since i dun eat seafood, i'll just have to take her word for it... my dad & sis ordered the seafood aglio olio $7.90 meal... they didn't really like the crayfish, coz it wasn't really fresh, but they loved the pasta... i on the other hand, ate chicken aglio olio (aglio olio $3.95 + $1.50 chicken)... my sis thinks the aglio olio tastes better with linguine... well what can i say? it's worth coming back a second time... my mum tried the chicken primavera (yes, u can see my family prefers pan fried pasta)... it isn't as good as spageddies (coz at spageddies they have this special wood grilled chicken)... at the beginning it was quite tasteless, but as u get to the end, where there's sauce leftover, it's not so bad... i would strongly recommend the mango routade (not sure if i spelt it correctly) at $1.80... it's very unique, i've never tasted or seen it anywhere else... i'll try describing it... it's a bit like croissant with mango mousse in the middle, but it's the mango's not too soft or creamy... so it's very easy on the tastebuds... i think the picture speaks for itself... the signature brownie ala mode of spageddies... my sis is very pleased with her italian choc cake (in case u dun know the diff, the cake is without nuts, they are actually the same)... it's kind of like an open air setting in the middle of imm... not a very big place, so i'm sure it'll be very crowded after people are aware of its existence... and guess what? it only cost the 4 of us $46.30 for the whole meal! and we were really very full afterwards... AARRGGGHHH!!!! after so much bashing today, i still can't get over the inefficiency & irresponsibility of my lecturer, so i'm here to let off some steam... all becoz of her i'll have to go to sch every fri for 1hr of lesson (8-9am) & there goes my 3 day week flying out the window... you @#$%^&*!!! side-note: my mum bought a dozen donuts from donut factory & now i know why people queue up for it... it's super duper yummy... especially the double choc... deeeeelicious! yes that was the state of the donuts when i got home... see the 2 culprits... over the weekend it's quite sad when u're feeling stress while slacking (big paradox)... i know i'm supposed to do my readings & assignments, but i just keep procrastinating... & while i'm procrastinating there's this little voice in my head that keeps reminding me i still have things to do... so it's actually not easy to be a slacker... yupyup, siyu's party was a huge success! siying & i were watching pink panther b4 the rest came, as a reward for helping out... ya while sijing had her reward by going to jap lessons haha... had lots of fun as usual :) it was like an overall gathering, meeting everyone, some i haven seen in a long long time... like IVY!!! omg so long never see her... oh ya & do u know, she drove a porsche? hairspray watched hairspray with sis & yeesiang yesterday... but first we ate lunch at kim gary... i dun know why, everytime i drink their milk tea, i'll get diarrhoea... it's as if they put laxative in it & it's a super effective one at that... the stomachache starts a few minutes after drinking & diarrhoea comes an hour or so later (yup just so u're interested, i still feel the effects this morning)... hairspray is a feel good musical comedy... u really laugh the whole time & even the lyrics are funny if u really tune in to it... the only complaint i have is that i have no idea why the actor was chosen for tracy's father, he can't sing & dance & looks more like a creaking grandfather, than a father... oh & john travola should sing in falsetto instead... NARCISSISTIC POST AHEAD>>> it was so crowded yest at chap 2, ok maybe it's just priscilla overloading (she's so good, she's high in demand)... despite me making appointment at 6.45pm, she actually started on my hair at 8 plus... yup so by the end of my haircut (10.15pm), my butt was numb from sitting so long... sis getting her bright red streaks... that vainpot, haha kept staring at herself after she did her hair... after the haircut... ok u can't really see the dye in this pic... ya just uploading to show how my hairstyle looks like straight... *it'll be straight today too, coz i can't wash my hair for 24hrs (treatment)... i'm having a bad hair day today :( yup my dyed hair... it's actually much brighter than the pic... mrt on the way home... my sis is zzzzing already... nice! went to buy a printer at courts during the weekend, printers seem to always die at the hands of the yeo family... ya so anyway while we were there... check out the irons!!! didn't know they came in shades of the rainbow... yup, went to try out the new donut store, yummy, at clementi central on the way home... looks beautiful, but does it taste nice? so far, my sis has gorged down the custard one (top left)... the choc sauce isnt sweet, but the cream is good! the total cost of these 4 is $5.20... will update on how the donuts are in my next post... will be cutting & dyeing my hair tmr :) Labels: food @ 09:17

journalism "the censored press has a demoralising effect. it is potentiated evil, from which hypocricy is inseparable [...] the government hears only its own voice, it knows that it hears only its own voice, and yet fixes itself in the delusion it is hearing the voice of the people & demands of the people that they, too, affix to this delusion" - karl marx, 1842 "if a government wants to act justly & in accordance with the constitutional principles then it will be necessary for it to hear all voices & all opinions. but that is possible only if one grants freedom of the press" - leveller party, 1649 it's still true to today... a**hole just read an article in the newspaper today abt a father raping his daughter for 4 years, molesting her from age 10 & raping her from 12... the thing is that he rapes his daughter, on the top double decker bed, while his younger daughter sleeps at the bottom... he will molest her by standing on the bottom rung & then later climb up to rape her... & now both his older daughter & his mistress (daughter's mother) are pleading for his leniency... he has a son by his wife... honestly i think he deserves a harsher punishment... this is so sick! i mean he's her father & he's suppose to protect her... & he actually rapes her with her sister in the room, which is really repulsive... it is horrible enough to rape a child & to actually rape ur own child is despicable... a fitting punishment (for all these child abusers too) is for his dingdong (censorship in process) to shrivel up & die a painful death... a victim's innocence can't be reclaimed, i think he ruined her life, there will be some impact, physically or emotionally, that will never go away & he can't get away easy... @ 16:37

s/u option omg this is so unfair!!! just received the student circular & they revised rules for s/u option... Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory option [...] Students admitted prior to AY2007/08 are required to exercise the S/U option for a module between Week 6 and the end of the Recess Week. The decision is considered final on the first day of Week 7 of the instructional period of the semester. Students admitted from AY2007/08 onwards will exercise their S/U option AFTER the results are announced for any module that permits the S/U option. However, these students will not be allowed to exercise the S/U option on modules taken in their graduating semester (which is the semester in which they file for graduation). update of my week so far sch has been relatively uneventful this week since tuts haven't start yet & i'm still in the holiday mood (ok when am i not?)... got 5 mods with farah, but she's dropping one... met up with tau for lunch on tue with farah & ben, while checking out the new arts canteen & saw so many little miss tees (oh puleeze, year 1s)... ate with bren yest & got lost finding out lt @ science (their lt is in the building!!!)... the choc dessert 'concorde' i had at megabites, while bren & i waited for our gem mod to start... nice, very rich, but gets a bit too much after a while... met up with mum & sis at miss clarity cafe for dinner, mum didn't really like the food coz she feels very 'ni4' after a while, but i think it's ok (not very good, but ok for the price)... it's somewhere students go for western food when they can't afford otherwise i guess... movies have been getting a fill out of my free 3 days of unlimited channels... there are so many channels i can't remember which is which, have to keep referring to the list... watched coach carter & v for vendetta today... coach carter is a very touching movie, the typical inspiration, all things will end well if u work for it kind of movie... having channing tatum as an eye candy helped too! i didn't really get v for vendetta though, maybe it's coz i dun have a care for futuristic movie, but i felt quite sad for v... after everything he did for the country, nobody knows who he is or how he looks like... ndp it was a tradition (ok maybe not tradition coz that implies a long period of time probably dating back to my great-great-great-grandparents... let's say practice) to go to my maternal grandma's house to watch the ndp... so it's kind of like cny when the whole family comes together, my aunt will cook a big meal & we'll eat while watching the parade... however, this year not only was the 42nd ndp's location was changed, the usual family gathering was also different... my aunt (the fab cook) was warded hospital earlier this week, so she was unable to do too much physical work aka cooking.... and my other cuz had their paternal side come over from overseas, so they had to entertain them... and the most pissing thing is that... i couldn't SEE the fireworks coz of the change in location (my grandma lives near kallang)!!! well, let's say the ndp-watching didn't go off to a great start... since i didn't really feel all that hyped-up... i went to play some shooting game & need for speed carbon (ya, just so u know, i lost both)... after playing for quite some time, i realised i HAD to watch ndp coz it's an exercise for one of the mods i'm taking this sem, so i managed to catch half of it... the only highlight of the whole ndp was... u know that guy who was wearing all white with a train (?!? not even sure what he's trying to get across... a bride?)... ya the only highlight was the car he entered & exit in.... oh ya, that & the clementi pri sch kids who kept waving at the camera during that segment... i kept laughing, they were so cute... i kept waiting for the fireworks to appear... everytime i tot it would start, it didn't (u know when the whole area dimmed the lights, u tot it's going to kaboom)... the song that came just before the fireworks was so long winded, it just kept on going & i was waiting & waiting for the fireworks... and when the fireworks finally came... let's just say they look better on tv... give me back my national stadium!!! FOOD FOR THOUGHT: did u notice that the only nice national day songs are the ones sang by kit chan? did u also notice that during the senior citizen's performance... u couldn't even see any of them with white hair? what's with all those symbols & stuff? i never could understand what each individual performance's supposed to mean... oh ya & lastly... that was a really good advertisement for go fly kites pte ltd... rush hour 3 my mum told me her friend said rush hour 3 is not as good as 1 & 2... bbuuullllssshhhiiitttt!!! it was hilarious... i laughed till my throat became raspy... i especially loved the ng scenes after the movie! chris tucker & jackie chan are a good combi coz they add humour to what originally would be a serious scene... always enjoy watching rush hour :) Labels: movies Wednesday, August 08, 2007 @ 10:38

tcc yesterday went to tcc great world for dinner (same outlet i went to hang out with bren)... recommended my parents to go try the new menu, they've never been to tcc b4 (missed out on the old menu)... but old or new, tcc never disappoints... the food was delicious as usual & the service was good... my dad ate the seafood aglio olio, which tasted like the authentic kind of aglio olio & not the stuff adapted to asian taste... my sis had the miso fish & she loved it... the serving was quite big for hers... my mum had the tamarind chicken (recommended by bren) & my dad practically finished it for her... it was unqiue, kind of sour, sweet & spic-y... i had the garlic chicken pasta... it was yummy! we had guanaja (decadent choc cake, absolutely the best) & tried the new apple tart dessert... the apple tartlet, though we waited for quite some time, turned out really good... there were 3 kinds of apple... apple compote, apple slices & dried apple, served with french vanilla ice cream... the price of tcc did increase with the new menu (price of food on general & drinks menu), but the standard of the food & service makes up for it :) Labels: food Monday, August 06, 2007 @ 09:14
class gathering @ iras had our gathering at a jap restaurant at revenue house... the food was cheap but not very good... most people who ordered noodles didn't finish... i ordered curry udon, but there was almost no curry, more like miso soup with a spoon of curry... the chicken was tasteless... however, the sashimi was fresh & only thing worth the money... celebrated (from left) thyeren, vic & xiuxian's bdae... the class (or whoever who came)... the clique...
