nygh gathering had dinner with the nygh bunch yesterday night at some steamboat place in liang seah street... it was quite pricey $23 with drinks after all the taxes... on the other hand, it was aircon, so i guess u have to pay more to get more... it was a very fun evening... kept laughing... first laugh of the day, which was also the biggest laugh, was when we told the woman that the tables were too small for 8 & she said the tables could be extended... the tables could be extended... from a square to a circle! doink... haha not sure that teeny bit did any difference...  from left: siyu, lil, me & ahma... rest of pics need to wait for mich to upload! after dinner, probably coz we laughed so much, burned away some of the food... we managed to find space for venezia icecream... my durian was good, as usual... had a good time yesterday! sigh... now it's back to doing work aka slacking while trying to work... chuck & larry watched i now pronounce u chuck & larry yest with sis at cathay... it was really funny, since 2 comedians are in it... but the humour was quite crass, lame & at some points, expected... good movie to watch if u want something light & easy, since there are not much comedy choices in cinema now... but it's not really worth the money... bosses today went to bosses at vivocity for dimsum with relatives... second time i went there, the first time wasn't so good (except for their signature custard bun, which was sinful) & it was quite pricey...  the appetizer, which is served in a quite unique manner...  ya, what some weirdos can think of with food...  wanqi's & my rose tea! it came in a pretty little teapot ($4 per pot)...  the healthy & delicious egg white tart... i love the crust, very crispy & it's not very sweet... so suitable for people who don't really like sweet stuff like my mum...  the durian souffle, which is on the expensive side... $9 for 3... cooked durian isn't as nice, so maybe the next time i go there, i'll try the banana red bean souffle, which is also cheaper $6 for 3... but it is different from other kinds of dessert u eat in a typical chinese restaurant...  THIS IS GOOOOOOD!!!! durian mochi... but very ex... $6 for 3, but really worth the price... the skin is very thin & soft...  u can really tell we enjoyed it! overall: still very ex... teapot had to be shared by 2 people, so it's $2 per person, even if u order normal chinese tea... they also dun serve water... but there are just some food that u should try... mood: irritated why do banks keep weird hours during weekdays? i was rushing to the bank at clementi at 1630 today & after going to 3 banks & 1 post office (this is by accident, coz i tot the bank moved with the post office), i realised all the banks close at 1630 & they were really punctual to the very second... honestly, most of the banking crowd would be working adults & tell me, which working adult is able to go to the bank at 1630 during the weekday? majority of them will be in the office working! and also banks open at 0830, which poses the question that how would said crowd be free to go to the bank within the opening hours, unless he or she wants to be late to work or give up their lunch breaks... that brings up the matter of cost efficiency... if most of the crowd can only make it during lunch break, then why bother opening for the rest of the hours during weekdays? shouldn't it make more sense to extend opening hours to after office hours, when people can actually go to the bank? maybe working in banks would be a good career opportunity, seeing the short hours that they keep... ok i'm just ranting because i didn't make it to the bank before closing time!!! i have ran out of titles picture uploading time! so many accumulated :) tcc treat by sis on friday evening...  i had the oven baked chicken with pasta... yum! the chicken's tender & seasoned really well, the pasta's a bit oily for my taste though... but it was good...  my sis had the salmon & prawn linguine... it's the same as the one from the old menu, but just with additional prawns...  mum tried the salmon with banana curry... she finished the sauce before she was done with half the salmon!  DESSERTS!!! sis had the vanilla bread pudding (hmm, can't really remember the name, but it kinda sounded like bread & butter pudding)... it's not like traditional bread & butter pudding, something with a twist, but you could still taste the bread & the ice cream's delicious...  i had the banana cocoa medley! strongly recommended! it's a cake like thing, with bananas in the middle, really special... today, mum bought home lots & lots of mooncake... me & sis ate the marriott blueberry cheesecake one, coz according to my mum it's really fresh... and it really is! the snowskin (i lurrvee snowskin) is really soft! and the blueberry cheesecake just melts in your mouth!  my sis is really happy with the mooncake!  haha we each got one! weird ok 2 funny things happened today, while i was out with my family... 1) when we were driving along esplanade & saw this couple sitting on scooters, riding side by side... so my mum started talking about wanting a vespa... and she started listing out pros & cons & one major factor was that it's dangerous to ride when it's raining... so she said "i'll buy a vespa when it's not raining"... -_-" so she's kind of cursing singapore to be in for a long period of drought... 2) we were at marina square, walking around after dinner & we came across this aquarium... it was a circular aquarium & we saw this fish that kept swimming in circles continuously... it was really non stop & so fast, watching it made me dizzy... haha then afterwards we realised that there was another smaller fish going rounds too but in the opposite direction... it was so small we didn't notice it at first!  a lucky shot, managed to catch both the fishes at the same time! they were going so fast, the picture is blurred... movies :) farah & bren: thursday was a chick flick outing with farah & bren... went for a pasta dinner at swensen's & watched no reservations at the cathay... oooo aaron eckhart is so hot!!! the movie was really great, very sweet...  me & bren at lect... we were so excited abt the movie, we weren't really concentrating...  farah & bren at missy donut at ps... farah was craving for donuts (haha maybe she's pregnant)... so much for her low carb diet!  ooooo delicious!  they just couldn't resist it... sis, yeemin & ys: friday after my stupid 1 hr tut (ok i still can't get over that)... & 1 hr of hanging around in sch, i met up with my sis & yeemin first to surprise ys... we went to new urban male to get him a pair of sandals for his belated bdae pressie (where i got 1 myself, can u believe it?), then yeemin & i went over to miss clarity to surprise ys...  i ordered the pan seared dory with garlic mayo... YUMMY!!! even my sis likes it... it's crispy on the outside & moist on the inside... and did i say i love garlic? only $8.80 with set lunch (soup/salad, drink & dessert)...  sis ordered chicken ballotine... the one with lots of mushrooms inside... it was so big she couldn't finish... it's also probably because i gave her all my vegetables haha...  ys ordered crispy black pepper chicken, but he didn't really like it...  haha the hungry man, who was so hungry he forbid us from talking about food before reaching the cafe... he ordered old mcdonalds had a farm... which was really cheap at $16! it came with a medley of meats... there was ham, sausage, lamp chop, pork chop, crispy chicken & wedges, with a sunny side up on top... haha that's his stuffed face... had to surrender after a while...  i had bread & butter pudding for dessert... it's really good, just hot enough, soft & the sauce was good as well... had to top up $2.30 from my set lunch, but worth it :) then we went to watch rogue assassin at cine... i like the plot, but on the whole the movie stinks... the actors tried to act cool & failed & it was really a turn off... i had to keep myself awake for the whole movie... the boy who cried "fire" on my way home today, i saw a small indian boy, about 3 years old... he was running to his mother & frantically shouting "fire! fire!" repeatedly... but his mother just ignored him... he started dragging & pulling her, still she ignored him... then, he started jumping on the spot & pointing with his teeny hand & his mother just shushed him... and i realised he was pointing at the bbq pit... @ 08:46
ratatouille ratatouille a nice movie, but don't feel any 'omphf' to it after the movie... his brother is probably the cutest rat/mouse after gus in cinderella... but before the movie, there was a short movie clip about aliens, which was hilarious!!! haha kept laughing & the animation was cute! also, there's a trailer for a movie called 'enchanted', also by disney, which i want to watch... side-note: i will have to go to sch every fri 8-9, it's confirmed... the tutor wouldn't even consider moving back an hour coz "some students have lessons in the afternoon"... like 9am is afternoon...
