canada will be going canada from 3-29 july... going to miss my hamsters so much! especially fatter mummy :(... now i'm just doing a crash course on canada & packing my luggage (based on all those contradicting weather reports)... canada is so ex! the hotel stays are so much more costly than uk, and worse is all the cheaper ones are fully booked... sigh... massive influx of pictures! our day at the zoo! sis & i met qi at 0830 (opening time of the zoo), but in the end, both parties were late and it was almost 9 when we entered...   KILLER OTTERS! they looked so cute & innocent in the morning... but when we passed the enclosure again on the way out, all the otters were trying to drown one of the otters... it was really scary... u could hear their high pitch sounds when they spot that one otter & they would just all swamp over him... and u just see that small head coming out of the water once in a while trying to gasp for a breath of air... then qi & i approached the zookeepers & what they said was that, quote, if they wanted to kill him, they would have done it long time ago, unquote... then the other one said, it just trying to show dominance... whatever -_-"...  my sis was so excited about going to the white tiger enclosure...  and it was closed! haha  collision of hippos... wahaha so funny!  baby baboons... nobody said all babies had to be beautiful...  the fattest mongoose ever! so cute... it was so much slower than the rest of the mongoose (hence it's alone in the picture), coz it's so fat, it had to struggle up hill!  qi's going to be shipped into the wild...  i didn't go into this one... my sis ensured me that there were no birds, just kangaroos... so i stepped in & saw 2 huge emus! must be some new species of kangaroos...  haha caught an elephant doing it's big business!  this has got to be the nicest tail...    orang utan enclosure is now a treetop trail... beware of hanging orang utans which pee at the most misfortune times...   manatees are so cute... and huger than expected...  this guy was selected to throw a frisbee to the sea lion... i love his position! but sadly he only succeeded the fifth time haha         qi was literally savouring every bite... even me the slowest eater in the world, managed to finish my meal before she was even half done!       the lesbian lionesses that i was talking about... one kept licking the other while she was licking herself...   and this is when my camera died on me... fun in the wild trip to the zoo today with qi & sis... was a buffet for mosquitoes today (reminiscent of botanic gardens)... saw lesbian lionesses, killer otters & non-dedicated young zookeepers... what has the world come to? even the animal kingdom is evolving to be like the crazy world we live in... will do a massive uploading of photos when i can find my usb camera cable! the central went out with sis & qi yesterday to the central... it was no surprise it was my first time there, seeing that the layout of the mall was not conducive to shopping at all... the central was practically split in half, food and shopping and to get from one side to another, you had to walk through a pathway at the centre of the mall... the central was so unlike other shopping centres (open concept), which main purpose is to make you walk and walk, through all it's stores; this one is like a maze... furthermore, there were not a lot of variety of shops, most of them were japanese eateries and small local boutique stores, which is really weird for clarke quay location (think fareast)... that aside, my mum suddenly decided to join us haha, so she basically paid for everything and ate nothing! we met around tea time, which was not so crowded... before my mum arrived, my sis bought us some mini donuts from a store in the basement (can't remember the nam) $4 for 12... i like it but they think it's too oily... my mum brought us to the famous ramen store, marutama ramen (i heard during lunch time you had to queue for 30 minutes)... the soup was super good, but i found it pretty pricey ($12 for noodles, soup & a thin slice of pork)... after that we headed to gobi for some delicate patisserie (this one we did pay ourselves)... $12.40 for a box of 6, no choice actually, just choose between 2 kinds of boxes, so there were some items i would normally not consider at all, but had to have them included... lastly, we headed to azabu sabo for teatime desserts, $5.80 for hotballs with ice-cream and a cup of tea, super duper yummy! had lots of fun today... haha no stress of paying money & qi was a comic relief... she laughs at everything & we laugh at her! we plan to go out again next week (mum's still paying), this time with my grandma... qiuu can't cook i cooked dinner last night. i really love to cook, despite my family's lack of encouragement and my financial strain working against me... but after last night's dinner, i've sworn not to cook any more... i must admit the presentation looked delicious, but... omg, the chicken was so salty and the pasta was tasteless... was pretty surprised that my family actually finished their portions... i didn't! haha Labels: food Monday, June 09, 2008 @ 17:24
signed sealed delivered decided to accept the job offer i got... quite sick of looking for job & the people (whoever few that i had the opportunity to meet) are nice... though it's a 2 year contract position, i can still leave after 3 months, so probably going to keep a lookout for other jobs... quick update tried out the new phillips vacuum cleaner that we got... it was a real workout... had to lug the huge thing around (it was a give and take, either silent as a mouse or light as a feather)... if i do this every week, i'll be toned in no time... it's a week for relatives... yesterday my dad's side came to visit (hence the big spring clean which i had to partake) and today's my maternal grandma's birthday... going to the family's new hot favourite zi-cha at ang mo kio for dinner tonight! update for the job search... going to sign the contract for the job tmr... but since there's lots of repercussions, my aunt told me to still keep a lookout for jobs during the probationary period... looking for job ain't easy, so i hope this one's here to stay... prince caspian watched chronicles of narnia the prince caspian with my sis yesterday... it was a damn good movie (just like the first 2)... was really on the edge of my seat, filled with suspense... haha i think i actually irritated my sis coz i keep saying 'omg they're all going to die'... ya dun worry... everyone didn't die, if not there would be no movie to watch... great movie to catch!
