bride wars digress here. went for yoga with lil, siyu, nessa and bryan yesterday. first time for nessa and bryan, but they did pretty well. i'm quite disappointed though, don't feel my muscles today like the last time. xxxxxx caught bride wars today with some of my new classmates, kanch, melinda, melissa, jiaying and only thorn among the roses, bobby. the movie was a typical chick flick, thus one cannot and should not expect too much from it. i can't imagine how could the director choose anne hathaway and kate hudson to be the same age when hudson is obviously so much older. but she certainly stole the show with her sunshine personality. can't wait for our next movie outing! cny celebrations reunion dinner 2: friday my second reunion dinner was with my maternal side. similar to last year, we had it at ang mo kio. but this time round, the young working adults were the ones who footed the bill. the "kids" table. from left: weiliang, sis, qi, jun, guan, biaogie, adri and biaoge (fabian korkor was covered). the adult table. from left: meiyi, dad, mum, popo, peiyi and kamyao (camera had to wide angle, so yima was cut off). our yu-sheng. as you can see, the stuff was landing everywhere. my niece, adrienne, who made stoning an art. black pepper crab with tang hoon. my family loves this dish: claypot crab with tang hoon (soup). last but not least, my favourite dessert of all time, or-nee! reunion dinner 4: sunday had reunion dinner with my immediate family at oscars, conrad centennial singapore. the place was packed, made it really hard to get food. though it was an international buffet, the spread wasn't very big. quite disappointing. me with my laksa. the gravvy was very diluted, but they were generous with the ingredient. my sis headed straight for the sushi bar. mum and dad couldn't get enough of the oysters. thankfully we were seated outside. it was breezy and definitely less crowded than indoors. our mini yu-sheng. sis with her 5 scoop sundae: raspberry, chocolate, french vanilla, lemon lime and gingerbread. my dessert spread! yummy! love the cream puff and tiramisu! my mum's fresh-off-the-stove waffle. my parents were so full, they decided to stay clear of buffets for a while. first day of cny our family portrait! the last photo before my camera crashed. special adrienne section the layout for this part looks a bit weird, but at least the videos are up. first one is adri acting angry and folding her arms. second one is adri shooting at me. @ 10:46
announcement as some of you know (those who witness the fall from above), my camera has died a painful death. luckily, i managed to take some pictures during reunion dinner and the first day of cny. will be uploading those probably on friday, or if i can spare some time, later this evening. harvest this year wasn't so good, but i had some mental preparation already (recession). at least i have some money to tide me over till payday (which is quite far away). will be going hot yoga with my clique tomorrow! it's going to be a hot event and we will bond over sweat. wahaha can't wait to see bryan in swimming trunks!!! cny i apologise for sounding money minded but i'm really happy cny is here because of all the ang-baos!!! really broke now and money can't come at a better time (since my pay's not coming till feb). it'll also be a perfect excuse to wear all the new clothes in my wardrobe which have been accumulating since my shopping spree (hence the broke part; coincidently mum can't scold me). the hand series i love my hamsters!!! and so this post serves as an infrequent update on how they are. i dubbed this the hand series because every pic features my sis's hands. my sis made fatter baby a hat that day, but as usual she was more interested in biting it. i love the pic of cow. if you can't see, he's actually sticking out his tongue! timid cappu hiding in the toilet roll and refuses to come out! in case you're interested, i couldn't find a pic of silly billy which fits, so until next time... sea salt caramel macaroons one more strike off life's 100 yummy treats under $10... sea salt caramel macaroons from canele. other than the sea salt one, my sis also bought other flavours like rose, cafe caramel, sesame, bergamot, and yuzu (not so sure if it's this). among all the flavours, my favourites are sea salt caramel, cafe caramel and bergamot. despite or maybe because of the fact that caramel is sweet, it goes wonderfully with the macaroons. the citrus flavour from bergamot, on the other hand, gives this very nice aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. a side note: if you're not a sweet tooth, do not even bother trying. the macaroons are very sweet! for more information on macaroon flavours, visit canele's website. absolute yoga went for my first hot yoga lesson @ absolute yoga with winy and lil today. it's was freaking hot and humid. really difficult to breathe (and the instructor kept stressing on breathing), however it was a good exercise. my muscles are feeling the stretch now. hopefully i wouldn't be too sore tomorrow (lots of stairs at nie). for a drop-in class, it's $34. but if you get a referral from a member, you only pay $17 for the first lesson. for information about packages, check it out here. happy birthday tau! everybody wave your hands up in the air, it's tau's birthday today! woohoo! celebrated his birthday with the clique yesterday, ok technically it lasted till early this morning. went for great wings and burger at brewerkz, then headed on to nectarie for dessert, but it was full. so we made impromptu plans to go to mount sophia, but again they changed their mind on the way and decided to watch a movie at the cathay instead. the movie, changeling, was quite good actually. very gloomy and somber. but angelina jolie's anorexic figure kind of steals your attention from the plot. it was very startling when i first saw her. it was really different from her usual curvaceous figure. hope it's for the movie and not due hollywood's obsessiveness over being skinny. was really fortunate bryan gave me a life home. it's was about 3am when i reach home (surprise!). english exemption test english exemption test my foot! just before my test, the lecturer said that actually this test is more for those who did honours in english. coz he didn't want them to learn what they had already learnt. the previous sem, only 2% passed the test. they might as well create an exempted-from-english group: by invitation only. and just put the rest through, instead of wasting time when we wouldn't pass the test in the first place. i need retail therapy to perk me up. what a thought when my circumstances limit even that.
