din tai feng treat by sis my sis was in a generous mood today. she sms me before the usual time we were supposed to meet and said she felt like eating din tai feng and it'll be her treat. i ordered my favourite fried rice, but this time with shredded pork ($8.50). it wasn't as good as my usual pork chop one ($9). my sis went for the prawn one ($10). it's pretty obvious what we sisters always eat when we're there. no noodles for us! thanks for the treat cheeks! paul blart: mall cop watched paul blart: mall cop with my sis during the weekend. used her gv vouchers since they were expiring. the movie was quite funny, seeing that kevin james was the lead. however, i felt they aired too many of the comical moments in the trailer, so we could actually anticipate the movie. man dies after using bottle for sexual activity March 26, 2009 Man dies after bottle mishap The incident happened when the 77-year-old man used the bottle to engage in a sexual activity. China Press reported that the senior citizen got his private part into the bottle and only sought help after his genital could not be dislodged from the bottle despite trying various ways. Doctors tried to alleviate the man's suffering by cutting the bottle below the neck but to no avail. An inflammation later set in causing him to be unable to urinate. His misadventure later led to other medical complications causing his death. -- THE STAR/ANN ok i'm a bit sadistic but it was quite hilarious. @ 00:13
dinner @ feast had dinner with sis at feast, jurong point. thinking of trying out all the stores since we have the kopitiam card which entitles us 10% off everything. the laksa from the fishball noodle stall is a bit bland, you definitely need chilli (and i usually don't eat chilli with laksa). however, if you want to try anything from the stall, you should try the fishball noodles. the fishballs are huge! they are like twice the size of normal fishballs. very worth the price you're paying for ($4). my sis loves the curry chicken noodle ($4.60) from the chicken rice stall. to me, the curry tastes like vegetarian curry, kind of diluted. but all in all, the taste is quite good and they are really generous with the chicken. this is the dessert i was raving about the last time. doesn't really look very appealing but it tastes delicious! the fen yuan is q and soft. goes really well with the longan soup ($2.20). for those who prefer peanut soup (those you have with tang yuan), they have that too. girl's night out big shoutout: happy birthday meiyi! may you be young and trendy forever! had really great time with kanch, bibi & ambiga tonight. first kanch and i managed to complete our podcast and made it down to jp for our mani-pedi. it took longer than expected but we got really great colours. took a cab down to meet ambiga & bibi at timbre @ arts house. the food was delicious, drinks were passable and music sucked. but all in all, we had a great time gossiping and enjoying ourselves (especially with the infamous bonding game). can't wait to do it soon! from left: kanch, bibi, me & ambiga. our really lovely 4 cheese pizza which was fresh & really thin. only $15. and their timbre chicken wings were really good too! basically all the food was good and cheap. you should try the garlic bread and fries when you're there. photos from new cam i haven't been taking lots of photos with my new camera, but i definitely got started first with my hamsters. and this is the response i got. cappu is acting weird nowadays. extremely active as opposed to his usual hermit-like behaviour. maybe he likes posing for the new cam. cow the glutton. i was feeding silly and this boy used the opportunity and grab more yoghurt drops. lastly, fatter baby who my sis thinks look like a cow. my camera's first day out. me and kanch at the back of the classroom during ss. very extreme pda in class by bobby. the hardworking group on the other side of the room. from left: anitha, mel, mike & parvin. the 2 early birds. and i must take this picture! it's the fen-yuan at feast, jurong point. very addictive! this is the cold strawberry version. comes in 2 other flavours: mango and honey dew. only $2.40. i prefer the hot one though. either in longan soup or peanut soup at $2.20. there are 4 types of fen-yuan: yam, sweet potato, green bean & red bean. only the yam and sweet potato are good. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIL!!! lil is now officially 23 years and 1 day old!!! though we couldn't celebrate with her today, due to hectic school schedule and commitments, we're going to party in april!!! Wednesday, March 18, 2009 @ 15:42
killer march pgde is actually harder than it seems. it's a 1 yr problem, but they really cram alot into it. i've never studied so hard before. everyday, there's always a reading to do, assignment to complete. homework's never ending. Sunday, March 15, 2009 @ 20:02
happening sunday today was a happening sunday for me! managed to finish one of my assignments yesterday, which is one day earlier than expected, so i had a day of pure leisure! went down bright & early to vivo to catch dragonball. it was an nie alumni thingy, so i got breakfast + ticket for only $5! called ys & sis along, yeemin bang sei us. the movie was surprisingly great. chow yun fat made it lively & the actors, while not totally resembling the characters, managed to keep the plot going along. after that we went to sentosa for cycling, which i'm definitely not doing again in the near future. sentosa is so artificial and man made now. kinda like someone who went for plastic surgery head to toe. they're even playing carribean music. everywhere we went, we kept seeing condo-like buildings. it's overly commercialised. we headed back to vivo when the clouds were getting grey. saw a camera my sis found for me samsung wb500. 10x optical zoom, 24mm wide angle lens. selling for $599 at best, with 8gb card, screen protector, cover and tripod. was thinking of whether to buy it. then ys decided to leave early to go to the it fair and i asked him to check for me. lo and behold, they are selling it for $499! that's a 100 off! and they gave 4gb and 8gb card, screen protector, cover, card reader, tripod, extra battery and more! so ys got it for me first. wahaha what a good buy! it's a really a good day today. nice end before another hectic week :) Saturday, March 14, 2009 @ 11:34
remakes... yucks! seriously, what is it about hollywood these days? remaking old video games into movies? and also using ang mohs for asian characters? and chun li doesn't even have her 2 signature buns and her high slit cheong sam! Labels: movies Friday, March 13, 2009 @ 18:07
emo have been really bobbed down with school work lately. just this month alone, 1 test & 5 assignments/projects. can't wait for april to come, yet, it's just bring me closer to practicum (which my teacher have been telling horror stories about). love the fairs though. went to natas fair with kanch, bf & parvin to book our cambodia tour. despite it being recession, the tours weren't cheap. our 5d4n tour cost $1008 and we did our comparison among other agencies. will be making time to head down to it fair this weekend. desperately in need of camera (recall: sis broke mine during cny). i've basically settled down on either sony h10 or panasonic tz15, but i keep getting sidetracked by other models. and i realised singapore is WAY BEHIND on panasonic models. another update: my dad is getting his car soon. even got the number plate sjp1607r, which he is not happy about because he was aiming for double number but that inefficient salesman kept delaying.
