mother's day lunch @ jack's place went to bukit panjang plaza for lunch yesterday with my family. found out jack's place actually offer great lunch deals, even during weekends. the set comes with soup of the day, main course, dessert and coffee/tea.  the mother.  first dish, soup. it was cream of mushroom. didn't really like it. zilch mushrooms and too thick, obviously added too little water.  ribeye, medium rare. i usually have my steak medium, but since the waitress said it would come on a sizzling plate, i asked for medium rare. the plate stop sizzling almost immediately, thus my steak remained medium rare. i didn't care for the steak either, had a very heavy 'xin wei'. don't really think it's fresh. maybe it's just this outlet, since i had really good steaks at the west coast and anchor point outlets.  dessert was caramel pudding. it was so-so, with some kind of dubious nuts on top.  last but not least, the tea. it was so thick i felt like i was drinking concentrate. needless to say, i didn't finish it. |
