night at the museum 2  watched the movie with lil on thursday after yoga, courtesy of siyu, who has just changed her job (congrats!) and has exciting offers which she shares with her best friends. it was very impromptu, because siyu only called us before our yoga lesson and we had only 45 minutes after the lesson to bathe, meet her to collect the tickets and reach vivocity. we were 15 minutes late for the movie and had to sit in the 2nd row (actually we were pretty lucky they even allowed us in). the movie was funny but it wasn't as good as the first one (few are anyway). i felt that they were building on the success of the first and just adding new characters just for the sake of making a second movie. good movie if you have nothing to watch and don't want to think too much. wouldn't watch it a second time though.  after the movie, we made another impromptu decision to have steamboat at bei shan chuan (3rd floor). the soup was very herbal (was only good after we added szechuan vegetable) and the mala soup was really bad. the variety of the dishes were quite big. lil and i concentrated on the beef (very tough) and mutton. they had a lovers cup, which is a gigantic cup of fruit juice (more like syrup water) for $5. it was so huge we couldn't finish it. buffet came up to $13.90++ per person without drinks.   we got some funky masks at the premiere! thanks woman for the tickets. maybe the next time the 3 of us can make it together! |
