swensen's 1 for 1 met kanch before school today at jp swensen's because we're so sick of school food already. can't imagine what happens when we start teaching, when we only have one canteen to choose from.   kanch's green with envy, which is a soda of sorts. the cup is tall and narrow and hard to mix the syrup with the soda water.  my minty espresso ice blended. quite cool, with 4 layers-- sugar syrup, milk, espresso and thin mint ice-cream, which i chose to stir together.  the one for one. you can choose any main course from the menu, so long as it's equal or lower price. we thought it had to be the same item, but no it doesn't have to be. this was quite a huge portion, which kanch couldn't finish (chicken, calamari, fish). and she got quick sick of the fried stuff after a while.  my absolute favourite at swensen's-- black pepper seafood pasta (yes i asked them not to put in the mushrooms, crabsticks and mussels). as usual, it was delicious. the bill only came up to $30! what a good meal :) |
