use your brain i don't understand why some people get frustrated when they flag for a taxi at a bus stop and the taxi driver doesn't stop because he assumes the guy is flagging the bus behind. Labels: use your brain Sunday, March 28, 2010 @ 11:16
how to train your dragon in 3d my very first 3d experience and i'm glad i chose this movie for it! i was quite wary of watching a 3d movie after all the 3d motion master rides i had that were nausea-inducing. i remember all the times i had to close my eyes to orientate and ready myself for another barrage of whirling images. however, this version of 3d images were different. the figures do not pop out at you. rather, they seem more well rounded, giving additional volume and shape to the characters and settings. also, i loved the movie! it was funny, heartwarming and the characters had quite a few flaws that made them seem human and relatable to. the dragons were so cute, especially toothless, who definitely came with teeth. i am so going to get the vcd when it's out! some dumb blonde jokes i was having a course today and felt quite bored so i started surfing the net for jokes to entertain myself. found some really funny dumb blonde jokes at www.coolblondejokes.com. i have nothing against blondes, but these are really funny :) The Magic Mirror Blonde at the Football Game Cutting Pizza Ventriloquist anyway after a while, i realised all the blonde jokes are about women! how sexist! my colleagues suggested that it was probably a group of guys who created these jokes and that was when we came across a joke about a dumb blonde male!
hope you had a fun time reading these as much as i had. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 @ 19:51

maybe singapore should consider this too... Argentina province OKs chemical castration for rapistsMarch 19, 2010 4:20 p.m. EDT STORY HIGHLIGHTS
RELATED TOPICS Buenos Aires, Argentina (CNN) -- Officials in Argentina's Mendoza province have authorized chemical castration for rapists after a significant increase in sexual assaults last year. Mendoza authorities convened a scientific legal committee and authorized the voluntary chemical castration by decree. "By using medication that lowers the person's sexual desire and with psychological treatment, the person can be reintroduced into society without being a threat," Mendoza Governor Celso Jaque said. Eleven convicted rapists in the province have agreed to the treatment in return for reduced sentences. Several members of the legal committee said the treatment must be voluntary or it would violate international law and Argentina's constitution. "Actually, it's a right they have like I have the legal right to tie my tubes. I have the right to use contraceptives," said Nelly Minyersky, a family and bioethics lawyer. "Also, theoretically, if I go to a doctor and tell him I'd rather not because it bothers me ... it's a right." But some experts caution that the treatment is reversible and its effectiveness is relative. "This leaves out a large number of sexual delinquents who have perverted pathologies," said Enrique da Rosa, a forensic sexologist and psychologist. "That is to say, I can't have the chemical impulse, the hormonal impulse, but in reality I can enjoy making the victim submit." The term "chemical castration" is a misnomer because the practice involves medication, not surgical intervention. Its effectiveness also stops when treatment is discontinued. The practice in Mendoza follows measures adopted in several European countries and eight U.S. states: California, Florida, Georgia, Montana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Iowa. Depending on the success of the program in Mendoza, the rest of Argentina could follow suit, officials said. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 @ 00:09
:( just feeling emo today. was looking through all the hamsters' photos and couldn't help but smile at their funny sleeping positions and all their silly antics. told lily that day that this year isn't a good year from rodents. lulu, her guinea pig, passed away recently and not to forget my three hammies. sigh, really miss fatter baby. can't believe she's been gone about 4 months already. now there's only little one left. he's cute and getting fatter, but it's just not the same. rip cappu the last of the fatter mummy and silly billy dynasty... CAPPUCCINO 23 november 2007 - 13 march 2010 so teeny, never could seem to grow big. one of the rare moments he got hyperactive and went bonkers. he's usually a sleeping beauty. you can take him out, then put him back and the next thing you know, he's already sleeping in his corner. so small he fitted into his food bowl. if you had asked me at the beginning, i would not have guessed cappu would be the last to go. cow was always the strongest and cappu had seizures regularly. however, he never showed signs of ageing and till the very last day, looked as young as he was a year ago. bye cappu. yummy carrot cake fantastic carrot cake at banquet, jurong point. at first i was attracted by the ban mian which was wholeheartedly endorsed by my colleague. not that i'm saying it's not good. it's delicious. in fact, i've been back for the noodles at least 4 times in the last month. however, what bowled me over was the carrot cake! you can find good black sauce carrot cake almost anywhere (personally, i think it's just the sweet black sauce). good white carrot cake, on the other hand, is hard to find. the carrot cake here is not too salty and the kueh is soft. furthermore, they give you a whole egg with one serving. the best time to have it is in between meals. the queue for the stall is always very long during lunch and dinner. if you have time, try it for brunch or tea so you'll miss the crowd. chinese new year: day 1 every year my family will take a quan jia fu (family photo) and this year was no exception. we posed in front of my mum's favourite chinese painting. first stop: paternal grandma's house. my aunt always prepare jolly shandy for us and this year we had something special! lychee flavoured! fantastic! my grandma who's getting senile. next stop: grandaunt's house. usually i can never wait to get to my maternal grandma's house. but she went to taiwan with two of my aunts, so this year i kind of felt lost and the festive atmosphere just wasn't there. still, i love meeting up with my cousins! my dad and uncle doing what they are always doing together. my cousin has this weird fetish of smelling my niece's bolster. yes, it's the one she had since she was a baby and had peed on several times. it's even worse when she goes around asking people to smell it. sis feeling very sleepy after eating medicine. we had dinner at fish and co. woohoo! my niece eyeing my sis's fish and chips. doesn't this look good? it's tastes good too. peri peri catch. had the raspberry cheesecake. i could never eat dessert after the huge amount of food, but since there were four of us, i just thought 'why not'? and... i'm definitely going to fish and co for more desserts! my favourite city: vivocity my title sounds like some primary school composition assignment. these are photos taken some time ago, during chinese new year. i just got my laptop back, hence you finally see pictures (i'm not completely happy with the repair but that's another story altogether). a few of us cousins decided to go to vivocity during one of the weekends to catch a movie. we had lunch at kim gary first. the fare at the restaurant is always generous and prompt, definitely a good choice if you have a movie in half an hour. my sis's borsch soup. i prefer the cream one. this reminds me of minestrone. vegetables and i are kind of like same sides of the magnet. we repel. peppermint aloe vera with sprite. quite subjective. the peppermint is very strong. if you can't take peppermint milk tea, you shouldn't even bother ordering this. something we usually have when we're there, mushroom rice. the mushroom taste isn't overpowering (a plus for me) and the corn adds crunchiness to the dish. if you do not like chicken, which is a safe choice, try the one with the fish. it's better! this is something i've always wanted to try but never had the guts. first, whenever i see waiters carrying the bowl, it just seems gigantic. second, it looks like it'll burn the roof off my mouth. it is huge, i could probably package my remainder and sell it in a normal bowl. however, in spite of the huge amount of chilli and chilli oil you see, it is not spicy at all. the noodles are quite 'q' and easy to slurp up. moving on to the present... we had jpot today for lunch. another of our favourite restaurants to hit. they are currently having a promotion, 25% discount for lunch (inclusive of weekend). for jumbo card members, it's 30% off! so my mum made use of the rare chance to order lobster sashimi. the lobster's live, taken right from the tanks you see at the entrance. it cost about $30, which is a pretty good price for something so fresh. goodbye er guma true love does exist. nowadays, increased divorce rates make a mockery of marriage as an institution and love seems like a fleeting concept. it's no wonder people do get pretty cynical about love. however, the past few days, or should i say months, have been a great testimony of love for me. my aunt had been suffering from a rare and aggressive form of cancer. she fought really hard against it, with her family always standing behind her through thick and thin. her will to live was strong. she tried several chemo treatments, approached cancer experts and during her last few days, even made a trip to malacca to seek help from whom we later know as a tcm quack. through it all, my uncle was very supportive. when we visited her you could see how he cared for her and how he felt every pain and discomfort she endured. my aunt became gaunt and had to shave her head for chemo, but still, she remained beautiful to him. i will always remember the last time we visited her. it was in the middle of chinese new year. we were up in her room talking to her when he brought her dinner up. she was very reluctant to eat as swallowing was a chore. also, for her to eat, she had to sit up and that was another uphill battle. my uncle would physically try to hold her up and coax her to eat. he sat on the arm of her chair and blew on the porridge to cool it down so he could feed her. besides that, he tried to distract her by constantly drawing her into our conversation, ensuring that her mind was on catching up with us rather than the strain of getting her food down. it has been five days since she passed. during the funeral service, i could see my uncle trying to hold his emotions in but it was hard. he broke down when they played her favourite bee gees songs. today was her cremation. he couldn't bear to let her go. he was crying very hard, emitting almost animal-like mewling sound. it was very heartbreaking. and so, even in times of sorrow, it's encouraging to know such a pure emotion like love still shines true. not many people even dream about chancing upon it and i'm glad to have actually experienced the loving relationship of my aunt and uncle.
