new menu at bakerzin dad, mum and i made a trip down to jurong point to run some errands as well as to fill our tummies at bakerzin. after moving house and currently staying at least a 15 minutes walk from the nearest shops, i do miss jurong point. it's so accessible (while staying in boon lay) and one can find almost everything there. alright, enough whining. anyway, bakerzin has updated their menu, not only in style (it used to be like a magazine), but also with some new items. one of the main changes is the addition of lunch boxes which starts at a rate of $18.90++ to $26.90++. all lunch boxes come with a soup of the day, cake of the day and salad (depending on price of the lunch box you ordered) and iced tea/soda (a variety of flavoured choices for this one). i chose iced peach tea. the peach taste wasn't strong enough for me. it also wasn't too sweet, which is a good thing i guess. the cake and soup of the day made the decision for me whether to order the lunch box or not. chocolate amer, my absolute favourite chocolate cake, and cream of corn soup. i struck out with one of the cheaper lunch boxes, carbonara with ham at $18.90++. i was actually happy at first with such a swoop of many items for such a reasonable price until my meal arrived. as everything came together, i could not decide which to start first, so i had a bit of this and that. however, the items cooled quickly. by the time i got through half of my meal, everything was already cold. after this experience, i would prefer to order the items separately. my parents ordered aglio olio with different fillings, prawns and mushrooms respectively. my dad also claimed his bakerzin member birthday coupon of a free warm chocolate cake! at the airport now, off to hong kong, be back in a week :) |
