aunt's birthday 
we celebrated my aunt's birthday at dozo at valley point during the weekend. food was good as usual, but the service is no longer tiptop, which is pretty sad. they couldn't even remember who ordered what :( that aside, we had a great time! 
the birthday girl and my nephew.

hard at work and then at play 
one day at work, some of us decided to fast with the muslims! ok, we didn't go all the way. our concessions were that we were allowed to drink plain water (it was our first time fasting) and fasting was from 7am to 7.13pm (when the muslims were allowed to break fast). so to continue after work, we made plans to go to geylang in the evening to break fast. 
ok digress, but i love my new blue gradient pedicure i had at ladyfinger! anyway, we met at paya lebar mrt first, before walking down to the pasar malam. 
we had to grab some finger food at the pasar malam first before going for our grand dinner at banana leaf at racecourse road. 
and did some shopping... 
we then shared two cabs to go to banana leaf. it was my first time there and we had such great fun. we laughed so loudly i was surprised we weren't barred from the restaurant! 
love these outings! it's hard to bond together when we are all so busy at work. this was an opportunity for us to let down our hair and chill. so how was fasting? not easy, i tell you. even with the fact that i was allowed to drink water, i succumbed at 5.30pm! with the long day of teaching and oral examination, i was extremely exhausted and light-headed. really take my hat off to the muslims who can fast every day and still carry on with their daily activities. selamat hari raya!
