lunch with a scottish dude & dinner with family an update from the weekend. ys was back from scotland, so sis and i met up with him for lunch. he was craving for thai food so we went to gold food thai chinese cuisine @ bencoolen street. 
the milk tea was recommended by the waiter. i was afraid that it might be too sweet, but was reassured by him that it was ok. and the sweetness was indeed just nice. 
green chicken curry. nothing to really wow about. 
the seafood tom yum on the other hand, i couldn't get enough of. 
a huge dose of fried chicken. i prefer my aunt's home-cooked version. 
prawn paste fried rice, but couldn't taste any prawn paste at all :( it was great as a fried rice but didn't uphold its name. 
then we went to a party shop to do some shopping (i love such random shops, you'll never know what you'll find there) and to buy a helium balloon for ys. 
next, was dessert at ah chew desserts @ bugis. 
ginko barley with tang yuan. sis felt it was a bit watery. 
my awesome fully-durian-loaded mango sago. totally yummy. 
yam paste, which looks really gross. after parting ways, sis and i went home to only head out for dinner @ bakerzin, vivocity. 
some strawberry and cheesecake ice cream dessert. the cup was very funky and the dessert just as unique. 
and the light and fluffy baileys souffle! just simply delicious. a wait of 25 mins is still worth it. |
