hong kong dec: part 2 traveling with my mum meant waking up early everyday. no slacking, have to make full use of the time there, so we were up everyday at 8am and out by 9am. most of the train stations are marked by the excellent calligraphy, so you are able to tell which stop you are at while on the train. we were given this food magazine by my sister which supposed featured all the good and affordable food in hong kong. we found one just two mtr stops selling fishball noodles. wanting to see if they were different from the ones we have here in singapore, we decided to make a trip down. other than fishball noodles, the shop also sells beef and cuttlefish balls. my mum tried their "eight treasures" noodles which had each of the different types of balls there. i on the other hand had their fishball noodles. the noodles tasted very home-cooked and simple. what can i say? i still prefer those we have in singapore. after that, we went to a columbarium near tai o village to pay respect to my late uncle. it was a short and picturesque walk from the bus terminal (last stop). we found really great beancurd on our walk back to the terminal. it was interesting how they served their beancurd. you have a choice of adding grain sugar (yes that is not grounded peanuts!) or ginger flavoured syrup. the beancurd was very smooth and easy on the throat. the bus brought us back to tung chung and citigate, my absolute favourite shopping place in hong kong! say hi to my new kate spade bag! how can one go hong kong and not eat dim sum? we found federal palace at citigate a very good eat! during 2pm to 4.45pm, the dim sum (small, middle or big) is only 12.80hkd, equivalent to $2.20! must eat! mango pomelo sago. loads of sweet mango. it was so filling. we couldn't finish our food. nitey nite! |
