2012-- total flop

was supposed to visit the night safari yesterday with a few of my friends but it was raining so we went to junction 8 for dinner and movie. we caught 2012 because they were only showing five movies there. after each of us voted, no cartoons and horror movies, as well as taking into account language barriers (malay and korean), we were left with only one choice.

it is probably the cheesiest movie i have ever seen. all natural disasters happened at the exact time you expected them and the main characters just seemed invincible and super lucky (in real life, they'll probably strike lottery every week). they breeze through every disaster as if they were superheroes or mystic beings. after about an hour, we were all checking our watches to see when it would end.

according to the dramatic structure theory, a story should always have five components-- exposition (introduction), rising action, climax, falling action and denouement (resolution). there was no rising action and falling action as you would expect in a story. it was climax after climax. and thus, it became comical after a while. so the movie was entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

really disappointing and a total waste of time. will not recommend it to anyone who hasn't watch it and is intending to.
